Bin half your loyalty cards. Keep these

Clubcard and Nectar now decide the shelf price on many items. The cards for shops you visit twice a year can go.

Go through your bank statement for a month and note the shops you actually use every week.

The ones that change the price

Tesco's Clubcard and Sainsbury's Nectar now come with member prices: many items carry two prices on the shelf, and you only get the lower one if you scan the card. If you shop at either regularly, keep that card.

Boots, Lidl Plus, My Waitrose and Morrisons More Card each have their own offers. Keep the ones for shops on your statement and delete the rest.

Points

Read what the points are worth before you chase them. Some schemes pay out in vouchers with an expiry date, so set a reminder on your phone.

Most cards now live in an app, so you can bin the plastic. Keep the app notifications off unless you want the offers.
